L-Taurine

L-Taurine is the second most abundant amino acid in the muscle after glutamine. It performs several useful functions and can act in a way similar to Creatine in that it expands cells by helping the muscle to hold more water, thus increasing cell volume. The added benefit for bodybuilders is that these expanded muscle cells boost hydration and stimulate greater protein synthesis giving an enhanced muscle fullness.

As a dietary supplement, take 2 capsules 3 times daily. The best time for bodybuilders to take L-Taurine is thirty minutes before training and again immediately afterwards as this will heighten the effect of training.

From studies, it is clear that L-Taurine plays an important role in nitric oxide production, where lowered Taurine levels leads to the reduction of nitric oxide production. Nitric oxide is a gas that's present for a instant each time a muscle contracts and blood vessel dilates. This is important in that this widens the blood channels leading to greater blood flow, which results in greater oxygen and nutrient delivery. As you can see, as bodybuilders, we need the increase in blood flow for oxygen and nutrient delivery, and without adequate nitric oxide, this isn't possible, and when deficient in L-Taurine, there is less nitric oxide production. Needless to say, Taurine makes a good supplement to take to combat deficiencies, and as well, just to maintain or increase nitric oxide production. At the same time, this makes Taurine good to stack with NO2 supplements to increase hemodilution and improve that perpetual pump caused by NO2. This is the very reason why you find Taurine in creatine stacked supplements.

If you miss a dose of L-Taurine, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Store L-Taurine at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Keep L-Taurine out of the reach of children and away from pets.

You should not use this medication if you are allergic to Saw Palmetto, or have certain conditions. Be sure your doctor knows if you have:

• a bleeding or blood clotting disorder (such as hemophilia);
• stomach ulcer with active bleeding; or
• ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease.
